The EDUFLUVAC partners, as part of their work programme on the development of a broadly reactive influenza vaccine, are planning a workshop in close collaboration with the FLUTCORE and UNISEC consortia entitled: “Four years of European research on the development of universal influenza vaccines: what have we learnt and how can we move forward?”.

Event - General interest

This four-day course, developed by the Jenner Institute and Oxford University, provides an overview of pre-clinical testing and the pathway from pre-clinical testing to field trials, discussion of vaccine immunogenicity, phases of vaccine testing from Phase I to IV and the development and manufacturing of vaccines.

Event - General interest

This is a five-day Master's level course, developed by the Jenner Institute and Oxford University, which covers all aspects of vaccinology. The course provides an overview of the field of human and veterinary vaccinology, from Edward Jenner to modern day vaccines.

The second EDUFLUVAC workshop, an integrated part of the project programme, on the development of a broadly reactive influenza vaccine, will focus on experimental animal models for universal vaccines.  The event will take place 23 – 24 June 2016 at the Biomedical Primate Research Centre, Rijswijk, The Netherlands.

The workshop will bring together experts from both academia and industry working on the development of influenza vaccines as well as representatives of regulatory authorities, to discuss which of the currently used animal models are applicable for preclinical assessment of the new generation universal influenza vaccines.

Event - Organised by EVI

The EDUFLUVAC partners, as part of their work programme on the development of a broadly reactive influenza vaccine, are organising a workshop on immunoassays that can be used to assess broadly reactive or universal influenza vaccines and their standardisation.

Event - General interest

Variation in vaccine immunogenicity and efficacy among populations is a public health challenge.  However, it also offers an opportunity to understand and overcome the causes of vaccine failure.
