Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica (iBET), Portugal

The Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológia (iBET) is a private not for profit research organisation created in 1989, acting as an interface between academic and industry research.  iBET brings together, as partners and collaborators, private companies and public institutions, organising competences for product and process development.  iBET know-how in terms of biopharmaceuticals spans from the initial expression vector design and cell line establishment through all stages of process development and scale-up (production, purification, stability and storage).

iBET’s participation in this project will be conducted by senior experts from its Animal Cell Technology Unit (ACTU).  One of the focus areas of the ACTU has been rational process development of complex biopharmaceuticals, including the production of virus-like particles (VLPs) using the baculovirus insect cell system.

iBET will be work package leader of  work package 2 (antigen selection and production).
